The SHSGA Fellowship Team

A high impact opportunity for students to build on golf, academic, and life skills through a tailored curriculum that creates positive relationships and experiences with teammates, mentors, and coaches with a focus on Core, College, Career, and Community.

OVERVIEW

Fellowship Students work directly with professional instructors, build relationships with Collegiate players and coaches as well as our SHSGA professional network (Circle of Champions) and members of the community all while utilizing public and private golf facilities and classrooms over the course of the summer (in-season) and school year (off-season).

The Fellowship Team is offered at no cost to students with equipment and daily transportation option provided along with opportunities for workforce training, youth leadership, and scholarship.

STUDENTS

Boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 18 are eligible to apply. Students of color or from an underserved community with an introductory knowledge of the game of golf are encouraged but not required.

There is no test to pass or golf skill qualification for this program, only the curiosity to spend time with the game and be open to investing in it. For the 2024 season, our team size will be limited to 10 players.

COMMITMENT

The Fellowship Team will have 3-4 meeting sessions per week from mid-June through August. These are 3-hour sessions held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Friday mornings from 9am to 12pm as well as two Saturday morning sessions per month in July and August.

Optional transportation is provided for each session. Students must attend at least two sessions per week in order to continue with the program and be eligible for end of season scholarships.

For information on how to begin your registration for 2023, please see the Fellowship Team Process section below and fill out the form here:

FELLOWSHIP TEAM PROCESS

1) INTEREST FORM

Students interested in pursuing the Fellowship Team are asked to start by completing the below form.

After receiving, our team will reach out to schedule individual conversations with student applicants and parents if they would like to be included.

2) INFO SESSIONS

These one on one sessions serve as an opportunity for SHSGA Staff to work directly with students and families to communicate Fellowship Team benefits and commitments as well as evaluate student fit for joining the team. We talk with prospective team members to review their transportation needs, goals for the program, and next steps.

After the Info Session, students may be asked to attend a Fellowship Team session and/or provide additional application information. Invitations to join the team will be extended after completion of this process.
